June update
I had a really cool outing to the Devoy squash courts where I got to watch Tauranga Boys students having a game of squash. It was really fun to watch them play.I had another cool outing to Toi-Ohomai polytech to walk around and also play a game of pool. I enjoyed the warm sun on the Waikareko walkway while I took in the sights. In music I had fun sitting in a circle and taking turns at choosing our favourite bands and singers to listen to. I chose Michael Jackson, Billy Jean as I love watching the Moonwalk . I had an ABBA week where we dressed up in funky costumes like them and listened to all of the hits. I have been playing the bongos and found it really fun to sing along. The next week was all about Elton John where I listened to his best songs and learnt a few facts about his life, Crocodile rock was my favourite. I
continue to enjoy going to connect 20 to catch up on all the goss, drink a fizzy drink and share a laugh or two with familiar faces. In personal books, I was really happy to finish the title page for my book. I jazzed up my name by making the R’s face backwards. At the library I have been reading books about animals, but only cute fluffy animals. I don't like books with scary sharks or spiders! I have been helping to put my friends' books back on the shelf before we leave. What a gentleman aye!?I am really looking forward to the masquerade ball, and in cooking I have been helping to make blueberry muffins for everybody to enjoy on the day. I also helped by creating star decorations for the ball, which I painted and covered in glitter. In woodwork I helped to stain and varnish wooden letters to make a sign for the woodwork room. They turned out really good. In sensory I coloured under the black light using highlighters which looked really funky. I also matched farm animals figurines to a poster, I really liked listening to animal sounds and guessing what animal it was.
In literacy I have been working on my goal and have begun learning cheeky phrases in sign languages, I can't wait to practice them on my staff.
What a fun month!
